Adam Posen, a member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, said:
What he really means, of course, is that the City of London will be far worse off. After all, the UK couldn't be far worse off: rising unemployment, demoralising young people, a collapsing social security and health system, a collapsing education system, a collapsing manufacturing industry, a collapsing infrastructure and an inevitable slide into full-on dictatorship, to name just a few.
The country has no idea where it is headed in the next 50 years. There is no optimism for the future, no grand plans, no pioneering spirit.
Mr. Posen's view of reality may be no more than his own bank balance, but I see this man and others like him as an impediment to the future prosperity of this country and its people.
