Oliver is a former Detective Constable with Greater Manchester Police. She is known as a whistleblower who exposed the poor handling of the Rochdale child sex abuse ring scandal.
She was interviewed at her home in Altrincham in July 2024, where she spoke about her childhood on the outskirts of Manchester and why she joined the force as a mother of four at the age of 40.
Throughout the series, we discover how she was tasked with investigating grooming gangs in the Greater Manchester area, and the failures GMP encountered in countering gangs that ultimately led her to resign and expose her former employer. please.
